Huawei Nexus 6P

  • The Huawei Google Nexus 6P is an absolutely stunning smartphone.
  • Whether it’s the design and build, display, camera, performance, software or battery life, the Nexus 6P is absolutely fantastic in all of these departments.
  • Its minimalistic stock Android 6.0 UI is geared towards offering the user a streamlined, flawless experience, and does so with finesse.
  • The Nexus 6P’s only real flaws are the lack of expandable storage and wireless charging, and a price that may be perceived to be too high.
  • However, if you’re looking for the ultimate stock Android experience, look no further than the Nexus 6P.

Huawei Nexus 6P Key Test Findings

  1. 1080p videos look good, 4K – not so much, auto focus in video is less than stellar.
  2. The camera experience is finally comparable to other top cameraphones, low light shots are quite good .
  3. The audio output quality through the 3.5mm jack, however, is on the quiet side and stereo performance is far from great, but the dynamic range and frequency response are very good.
  4. The loudspeaker is pleasantly loud and scores a Very Good mark .
  5. Excellent performer with no stutters or dropped frames in everyday tasks .
  6. Optimizations to Marshmallow allow for excellent standby battery life and we give it an endurance rating of 74h .
  7. USB Type-C is convenient and offers fast-charging but the lack of OTG and TV-out support is a bummer .
  8. The fingerprint scanner is blazing fast and a welcome addition .
  9. The AMOLED screen is gorgeous and dims to a comfortable level in pitch darkness, but color rendition is not on a calibrated level like it is on the Nexus 5X .
  10. The hardware is beautifully designed with excellent attention to detail, though, front is boring to look at .
